Homeschool Classes
Mark Johnston teaches classes through various homeschool academies. Typically, he teaches the following classes:
Foundational Truths
of Your Faith
Grades 4-6 | Boys & Girls
This class focuses on Biblical truths that will provide a foundation for the tests, temptations & triumphs in life.
The lessons include: how to have a daily walk with God in salvation & forgiveness; loving God & others; names of God & His attributes; names God has given you & your identity in Christ; self-acceptance; honoring your father & mother, understanding/enjoying the differences with your siblings; spiritual warfare; how to study your Bible. The students will also learn social skills, such as how to carry on a conversation & the four levels of friendships.
Walk thru the Bible
Grades 4-7 | Boys & Girls
This class is for those who want to understand how the entire Bible fits together with one overriding story. God's rescue plan of redemption for mankind. Each week a book will be covered that highlights theme, message & main characters. Class will be ppt driven & will help youth apply the timeless principles for living out their faith. Deuteronomy 6:1-2
Topics will include: authentic faith, spiritual disciplines, moral boundaries, healthy friendships, wise choices, ultimate authority & others first.
Money Matters
Grades 7-12 | Boys & Girls
This class will teach the basics of how money is earned, saved, tithed, invested & multiplied. We will design a business card, share how to start your first business & principles that need to be in place to succeed. The basics of debt, credit, stocks & real estate acquisition will lay a foundation to build upon & create a desire to start now with the financial & stewardship insights God has given us in scripture.
Topics will include: Biblical finances.
This class will study the strengths & weaknesses of men in the Bible, with Jesus’ life as the perfect example of manhood. 1 Corinthians 13:11 will introduce the process of letting go & growing into all that God has in store for young men today. This class will consist of goals to be working toward, not instant manhood.
School of Young Manhood
Grades 7-12 | Boys
Based on a book study by Andy Stanley, students in this class will understand, memorize & embrace the following 7 principles so they can be balanced disciples for Christ & remain firm in their faith walk after they leave home.
Topics will include: authentic faith, spiritual disciplines, moral boundaries, healthy friendships, wise choices, ultimate authority & others first.
